JTL Students Win Awards at the 2025 State Media & Design Competition
2025 State MAD Winners

On Wednesday, May 21st, 8 students and Mr. Toth went to compete at the state level Media & Design competition. Having already won their region in 3D Printing & Design, Web Page Design and Digital Movie, the winning continued at Elizabethtown College for the dynamic eight that made the early morning trek to compete with the best in the state of Pennsylvania, and our JTL students did not disappoint.

In Webpage Design Liam Morales and Dante Perez were awarded third place for their  A Warm Welcome to JTL, a web page dedicated to incoming 6th grade students.

In Digital Movie, Camila Taveras, Trinity Taylor and Elyse Kelly were awarded second place with their movie Titled First Day Jitters. This movie was created for the incoming 6th grade students at orientation and was used over the past two weeks to welcome new students.

In 3d Print and design, Chris Medrano, Orion Tucker, and Diego Pedrosa were awarded second place for the design and printing of a tool called the Deck Digger.

Congratulations to these Media Design students, who under Mr. Toth’s direction, created unique products and spent many long hours preparing for this competition.

JTL students win big at the Regional Media & Design Competition
The 2025 JTL Media & Design Competition Winners

Since 2006, Mr. Toth's Media Design students have attended the Media and Design competition where they compete in six different media and design categories, showing off their tech skills against students from other schools in the Monroe and Northampton county areas.  These skilled areas include; Logo and Graphic Design, Digital Movie, 3D Print and Design, Animation, Programming, and Webpage Design. This year, JTL entered twenty projects in a field full of tough competitors. In the end, Mr. Toth's students did not disappoint winning multiple awards in all six categories. The first place awards in each category get to compete in the state competition which is a place where our Media Design students really shine.

In Programming, an automatic controlled desk fan called, the Whirlwind, won a second place. This was programmed and designed by Nick, Jason, and Tareq.

In Graphic and Logo Design, Capture Your Creativity was created by Claire and Kellan and received third place. Caroline's Electrifying A Way Forward was designed by Caroline and won a second place award.

In the Animation category, an animation created by Harold won a second place award with an amazing animation called The Impacts of Plastic Pollution.

In 3D Print & Design, the Deck Digger created by Chris, Diego, and Orion took first place. This product helps clean off the space between decking materials on homes to make spring cleaning easy.

In Webpage Design, JTL took home two awards. In second place, Cameron, Daren, and Destiny created a website for Jay's Limousine Service, which explained the details of a local business. In first place, Dante and Liam created a website called A warm welcome to JTL to show off the things new students should know about coming to our school. It is a resource page for students, but also a great way to make students feel welcome and that they belong at JTL.

In Digital Movie, JTL took home the first place award with the movie titled First Day Jitters. This was a great movie created by Camila, Trinity, and Elyse, which will be used to show incoming 6th grade students the JTL building. Its purpose is to make new students to JTL less worried about the day to day hustle and bustle of our building.

All students winning their respective categories will be headed to the state level competition on Wednesday, May 21st at Elizabethtown College.

The students want to thank their chaperones, Mr. Toth, Mr. Del Vecchio, Mrs. Shemansky, Mr. Labar and Mrs. Burns for helping everyone get to the competition and to set up. Congratulations to Mr. Toth and his students on the awards won in every category and the fun time had by all.

JTL Celebrates Veterans Day

The John T. Lambert Intermediate School celebrated Veterans Day with two assemblies on Monday, November 11th. We would like to thank the Veteran's Day Committee who put together a fabulous program that included the JTL Pep Band under the direction of Mr. Del Vecchio, the Symphonic Choir under the direction of Mr. Mengel, a movie honoring our local veterans created by students in Mr. Toth's Media design classes (click here to see the movie), and an award celebrating our buildingwide fundraiser called Penny wars. Ms. Schembeck obtained an amazing guest speaker, Earl Granville, who was joined by Tom Tice, the founder of Warrior Strong. The $1,211.49 raised was donated to Warrior Strong which is an organization that helps veterans when they return home from combat missions.

Our school community would like to thank all veterans for serving our country.
