Chess Club

The JTL Chess club is a group dedicated to learning about, discussing, and playing chess! We play classical chess, rapid, bullet, and online games. Students in the club are also challenged with weekly puzzles and taught chess theory. The club runs during the second half of the year from February through May. Sign up forms are usually available around January. The club is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, and it welcomes chess players of all skill levels! Students in the club have a chance to participate in an ESASD intermediate and elementary chess tournament, which has been hosted at JTL for the past two years!
